Calvin and Hobbes....for a refreshing morning!

If you've ever felt alone, remember Calvin, who's found a soulful friend in his stuffed tiger toy, Hobbes. If a six year old boy can have adventures all by himself, why can't we? True, he seems a bit eccentric but life isn't fun without all these eccentricities. Whenever I read these comic pieces, I can't help but love this little boy and his friend, both of whom are filled with strange ideas. 



















I quote Calvin and say, "There's a difference between me and the rest of the world! Happiness isn't good enough for me! I demand euphoria!"

Stay euphoric!!

    I stay subscribed to The Kathmandu Post just to see Garfield in the morning ! but I like Mutts as well. .. been thinking of switching to Republica but cant leave Garfield

I am in the middle of reading "Life of Pi" by Yann Martel. And I have come across this very intriguing description of this predator we all love to hate: hyena. Frankly speaking, I could not even begin to give a description close to what Mr. Martel has here, although it's obvious that I am not a writer of his caliber. I was impressed by the description he gave earlier in the book for three toed sloths, reminding me of my sister (who broke out to laughing at the similarity; we were in joking terms anyways) but sloths haven't had much influence in my life as much as hyenas have. I'm not saying I am drawn to the animals myself. My dad watches too much of National Geographic and Animal Planet to let us the snippets off of the wildlife in MasaiMara. Are you going Green this Shrawan?

Today is Shrawane Sankranti. Sankranti, as far as I know, is the beginning of a month. So it's the first day of the month of Shrawan. When I was on my way to work this morning, I saw women with green bangles and lots of Mehendi already. So it's the beginning of this wave also. See, my family is as religious as it is ritualistic - which is not very much, on both accounts. My Mom used to observe fastings till she couldn't do it anymore because of Gastritis. And her fastings used to be limited to not eating meat, or practically anything except fruit, and then roti and curd, may be after sunset. *With Arms wide Open* Those who frequent my blog (which I'm sure there are few) will know that I keep this section where I write what I am doing at the moment. Even those who do visit the page do not notice it . Anyways, in that section, I was supposed to write where I work, or what project I am involved in und so weiter , but being a foolhardy reader than I am, I have chosen to write what I am "reading" at the moment. And right now, it says, Reading "Perfect Match" by Jodi Picoult, "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee, AND "The Time Traveller's Wife" by Audrey Niffenegger.
