Are you friends with me? I think I know your type.

Image
I have 283 friends in facebook. Regardless of what friend is defined as in many dictionaries, I have all sorts of "friends" that there can be.  One is that posts about every single thing that has happened in his life. You can literally feel the burden of the knowledge of this person's life on your shoulders. Another is full of philosophy, she oozes life and vibrancy into your life through her posts. There is one that changes his profile picture so often, I just have to stop liking them in hopes that'll discourage him (but no, it doesn't). One travels so often and so far out, and posts all the wonderful pictures you can't help feel a teeny-weeny bit jealous for her. One brags all too much about the baby she just had had; although I can understand the motherly pride she must be having (and may be I will turn into one in the near future), post something yourself too, lady. Another is all about football; he posts and shares anything and everything that ...

Worth a While

"The secret of patience is doing something in the meanwhile."  Not long ago, I had to accompany my aunt to the airport to pick uncle up. His flight was somehow delayed so we had to wait a good while. And since we were not sure about which exit he was going to come through, we had to sit afar from each other. Alone by myself, while I was straining my eyes for uncle, I got to witness a whole lot of things at a place so ordinary and yet so extraordinary. People were waiting for their friends, bosses, parents, spouses, siblings, relatives, lovers. People were moving about trying not to miss their flights. People were arriving from distant lands. People were coming home. Some were bored stiff from the mind numbing wait. Some were really anxious; they just couldn't stay at a single spot, always on the move, roaming the whole place looking from one exit to another as if the wait was going to lessen that way. Others were calm and so very serene. Those who arrive...

Little things

Happiness sounds like... the sweet melody of Flaws, the voice of Dan Smith Happiness looks like... a stage with Bastille with just Kyle, Will and Woody, an excited crowd, a throng of screaming girls Happiness feels like... bafflement of not spotting Dan Smith anywhere in the stage or amongst the crowd, hoping he’s down with the fans, expecting him to actually be doing the rounds among the fans, hearing the screams approach you, and finally seeing him actually come towards you where you stand trembling holding your phone debating with yourself if you should stop shooting and see him or capture the moment for me to go back in time and relish it over and over Happiness is.... seeing him sing and walk past me, getting to capture him singing and walking past me, having him brush past me Ecstasy is ...feeling dizzy with the realization that YOU JUST SAW DAN SMITH SO CLOSE AND TOUCHED HIM!

A rather heavy heart...

Image
A rather heavy heart weighs me down today. When will I lift me up, tomorrow, next week, next month, never, who can say. Painfully alone in the middle of a crowd. Do I want to keep mum or do I want to scream my head out. Should I burn myself out and rise like a phoenix, or should I stay numb and watch the clock as it ticks. I always knew that life could be crazy funny, but I never really guessed that the joke could've been on me. Heartbreak can really make a nobody into a poet. Look at all the insane lines I wrote.

I smell hope..

About four months ago, when I was shopping for my trip to Australia, I bought a perfume that I liked very much. (Okay, not a trip, cause that makes it sound like I’m on a holiday, which I’m not.) I had also bought other ones but that one was special. The first weeks in Australia had been the most apprehensive. Apprehension of things that were new, people who were strange, places that were different, systems that were alien and ways that were unfamiliar. Also there were the feelings of excitement for all the experiences that awaited (like getting aboard a train, walking on a beach…something I had been looking forward to my whole life), for all the friends to be made (Nepalese and otherwise), the scenes to behold and the food to be had (“other than just mo:mo” was what I had thought at first, but how wrong I was since I crave for mo:mo more than anything at all times).  Then there was the anxiety of having things fall short of my expectations (which I had little but still...

The Rain-Effect

Image
Outside, it’s raining with such furore you would wonder why the Heaven is so eager in cascading so much water down on Earth. And the intensity of this rain is such that you feel as if there is a curtain around the house and you are a prisoner not meant to lift that curtain and leave your haven. Sometimes I wonder where so much water goes. Of course I know that the Earth sucks it all up and uses it for noble causes (and sometimes, not so noble causes, namely landslides, flood et al.) But really, when you look at the sky, it’s just vacant except for some clouds, and sometimes even clouds  aren't  there, and yet (by some miracle; which you will call a natural phenomenon with reasonable scientific explanation) water pours down as if by magic. Just like that. Out of thin air. If I’m not too occupied to be fazed by the problem rain creates while I’m about to go out or while I am out, I could look at it and be amazed till it actually stops. I would like to call it the rain-eff...

It's such a cliché, but I never get tired of it, "Life is Beautiful"

Image
Ask me how my life is, and without blinking my eyes, I'll tell you my life is beautiful. God knows my life is not the easiest and I am not the happiest person you'll ever meet. It's just that I like to keep it simple and choose to say my life is worth more than anything in the world. So this young and pretty actress committed suicide recently. It was a waste of a beautiful life. I will not go and judge her, saying how she could just put an end to her life when there are people in the world living with much less than what she had. She must have had her own reasons, and since she has already gone and taken her life, there is nothing we can do about it. Talking about the cons of suicide will not change anything about this news and I do not intend to do any of that. What I do intend to do is remind myself and you that life is a gift that we are given without the guarantee of being born again. Everyone has their own problems, some are given more than the othe...
